How to Add a Header or Footer to Every PDF Page

A repeated header or footer — a document title, a date, a "Confidential — Internal Use Only" notice — is one of those small details that makes a document look properly finished rather than like a plain export. It's also genuinely useful once a document leaves its original context: a printed page can get separated from the rest of the stack, and a footer identifying which document and page it belongs to is the easiest way to reunite it.

Steps

  1. Open the PDF Header/Footer Adder and upload your file.
  2. Enter the header and/or footer text you want repeated across every page.
  3. Download the result.

Pairing it with page numbers

A header/footer with a document title and a footer with page numbers together cover the two most useful pieces of "which document, which page" information a reader could need. If you also need actual page numbering rather than just static text, the PDF Page Numberer handles that specifically — the two tools are complementary rather than overlapping.
